My floor plan, revised

Hey,

Today's Style Cure assignment was to take out all accessories and distractions out of the room and concentrate on furniture layout. At first, I thought the assignment was boring, but then I read Maxwell's tips, and after thinking things over, taking pics of the improved state of the room, had a lightbulb moment and realized a minor change (daybed with nesting tables switching places with desk/stool/reading lamp) would do a major favor to the room!

Here's my improved floor plan, with more accurate colors:

The floor is unvarnished wooden parquet of a light beige color. with the new layout, the first thing one will see upon opening the medium brown colored door will be the small couh/daybed (it's a greyish navy color) on the opposite wall, with a standing lamp (pictured here as a white circle) on one side and two black-framed glass-topped nesting coffee tables. Behind the couch will be hung a large and colorful artwork (picture here as a bright orange rectangle).

Clockwise from couch, there will be a stack of custom-made (for a previous place) wooden cubes painted in white that are perfect for storing books and whose tops double as side tables or room to display small vignettes. Above the cubes is already hung a medium-sized work of art (my own creation) in hues of dark grey.

Then, right in front of the window, an armchair covered in a patterned fabric, a reading lamp (white dot) and the smallest of the set of three nesting tables. Above it is a (currently bare) lightbulb hanging from the ceiling (slightly bigger white circle).

Further to the right, I need to find and hang another big statement colorful work of art (or create my own).

Then three stone steps of a stairway leading to the upper floors (pictured as three thick light grey lines).

Then the wooden entrance door to the room. Behind it, my ligth grey marble-topped desk and its dark wood stool, as well a desk lamp (another white circle). On the wall, at the right side of desk, I will paste a piece of colorful removable wallpaper (see previous post where I showed the selected wallpaper). The wallpaper is intended to make a bold graphic statement, and the inspiration for it is this image:

Behind desk and along the walls, a series of bookcases, either painted white or in different shades of wook, some are closed by glass doors, others are open.

Finally, a corner left bare, for some breathing room - the place is not that big after all. An extra heating device will be put there during winter if needed.

Please note that i'm leaving plenty of breathing room between each piece of fuirniture and the walls - things will not be as pushed against the walls as they appear on my rough sketch!

That's it!

I will publish updated photos of the room later this weekend you'll see what I mean.
